Background

Dan McCormack teaches the Criminal Justice curriculum for first year students in the Career Start Program, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Phoenix. 

Mr. McCormack served in the United States Marine Corps, before becoming a Deputy Sheriff with El Paso County Sheriff's Office in March 1997. Mr. McCormack primarily worked as a corrections deputy and was assigned to the Metro Jail facility before leaving the Sheriff's Office in January 1999 when he was hired by the Colorado Springs Police Department. 

Mr. McCormack worked in several positions within the police department, to include Patrol, Investigations, Neighborhood Policing Unit, Range Officer, Cadet Advisor, and is a founding member of the Homeless Outreach Team. Mr. McCormack medically retired in July 2018 after suffering an injury while on duty. 

Mr. McCormack is currently employed by the Colorado Springs Municipal Probation Department as a Presentence Investigator.
