Articulation is an opportunity for high school students to earn Pikes Peak State College
(PPSC) credit for approved Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses taken at participating
high schools.
Given that both secondary CTE and PPSC are managed by the Colorado Community College
System (CCCS), articulation is founded on a set of assurances that CCCS has determined
must be fulfilled as part of its secondary CTE program approval process. PPSC maintains
a list of courses that align with the corresponding Scope and Sequences published
on the
CTE in Colorado webpage which are reviewed annually in May. As an expansion on this relationship, the following
are required for articulation:
For high schools & instructors:
- Annual Articulation Course Request and Assurances on file (Window: 8/1-9/30)
- The course exists in an active CTE program in the state of Colorado.
- The instructor has a valid Secondary CTE Credential in the content area.
- Classroom instruction is aligned with the respective Scope and Sequence of the articulated
couse as published on the CTE in Colorado website.
- Classroom facilities, equipment, and supplies meet Cluster/Pathway and Administrator's
Handbook standards, including safety requirements.
- The school is willing to have the PPSC Department Chair for that content area conduct
an audit upon request.
- The school acknowledges responsibility for submitting student transcripts and the
$10.00 per student fee for each articulated course.
For students & eligiblity:
- A maximum of nine (9) credits may be articulated without taking a course at PPSC.
To receive additional articulated credit, the student must take at least one course
on a PPSC campus or online.
- The student must have completed the course within one year of the articulation request
and have received an A or B, as demonstrated on the high school transcript.
