Pikes Peak State College has established a solid reputation for producing outstanding students who earn their associate’s degrees at PPSC and then transfer to other colleges or universities to complete their bachelor’s degrees.

PPSC also offers some four-year degrees, so you can complete your entire bachelor's degree here.

The Bridge to Bachelor's Degree Program guarantees admission to a participating university for new, first-time students at any Colorado Community College System (CCCS) college—including Pikes Peak State College—once you've completed an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree. Many of our students start here and complete high-level degrees at institutions across the U.S., and they have all made a good choice! Starting at PPSC offers affordable tuition, top-notch support, and flexible class formats to help you succeed both academically and personally. With small class sizes and a variety of learning options, you’ll get personalized support and be able to progress at your own pace.

Transfer Planning

Complete your Associate Degree for Maximum Benefits
With a completed AA or AS degree from PPSC, you’re guaranteed up to 60 transfer credits at any public university in Colorado, entering as a junior in your chosen major. Plus, PPSC offers diverse programs and access to scholarships specifically for transfer students, making your educational path more affordable and flexible.

Create your transfer plan 
Planning early is essential for a smooth transfer to a program. Regularly meet with PPSC advisors and transfer advisors to get guidance on course selection, deadlines, scholarships, and admissions. Schedule your advising appointment through Navigate and select "degree planning."

Keep in mind:

  • "D" and "F" grades do not transfer to other colleges and universities.
  • Courses below the 1000 level are not transferable.
  • AA/AS are transfer degrees, guaranteed for all public four-year schools in Colorado. 
  • AES is a transfer degree designed for students who intend to transfer to an engineering bachelor's. 
  • AAS/AGS are non-transfer Degrees, but some have Institutional Transfer Agreements and individual courses may transfer.

Transfer Timeline

It is never too early to start thinking about transferring. Follow this timeline to earn your associate degree at PPSC and have a smooth transition to your intended transfer school. 

What to do when you have 0-15 college credits:  
  • Research majors and degree options at other schools that interest you. 
  • Meet with an advisor. They will help you determine which classes to take and can get you started on a transfer plan. 
  • Attend on-campus transfer events to meet with representatives from other schools and get your questions answered. 


What to do when you have 16-45 college credits:  

  • Continue to meet with your advisor to make sure you are meeting your degree requirements. 
  • Talk with an admissions representative or advisor from the school(s) you are interested in transferring to. Confirm the transfer and course requirements. 
  • Visit schools and gather information about the school, your major, and any requirements and deadlines you should follow. 


What to do when you have 46-60 college credits:  

  • Complete online applications for your intended transfer school(s). Be sure to follow their application dates and deadlines! 
  • Order your PPSC official transcripts to be sent to your transfer school(s). Video: How to order transcripts 
  • Explore scholarships offered by your transfer school(s). Be sure to ask about scholarships specifically for transfer students! 
  • Complete a financial aid application and review your award offer from your transfer school(s). 
  • Apply to graduate from PPSC! 

Where Can You Transfer?

With an Associate of Arts (AA) or an Associate of Science (AS) degree, you can transfer to any public college or university in Colorado. The most popular transfer institutions for students finishing at PPSC are: 

  • University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS)
  • Colorado State University, Pueblo (CSU-P)
  • Colorado State University Fort Collins (CSU)
