Leslie Barnes-Fischer is a graduate of Colorado State University (BA 1991; MA 1994). She taught high school English, CTE and Communication for thirty years in the public school system before retiring in May 2024. She has been teaching Concurrent Enrollment classes for PPSC since 2017. Leslie is an advocate for education and is thrilled to be teaching Communication for Pikes Peak State College. She is a firm believer that there is not a “cookie-cutter” formula for becoming a strong public speaker; her goal as an instructor is to give students the tools to become the best public speaker they can be. Leslie and her husband have two adult daughters and are proud pet parents to their Golden Retriever, Norman. In her spare time, Leslie enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
