I am originally from Western New York. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal
Justice from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I enlisted in the United States
Army shortly after college, where I worked as a Military Police Officer and Criminal
Investigator with the Criminal Investigation Division for approximately four years.
I began my law enforcement career with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office in Colorado
Springs immediately after completing my military service.
My career with the Sheriff's Office included assignments as a detention deputy, patrol
deputy, DARE instructor, detective, and training deputy/sergeant. I obtained my Master
of Science Degree in Management/Leadership from Regis University just prior to my
retirement from the Sheriff's Office in 2010 after over 22 years of service. After
a brief 1 year period of employment with USAA as a security officer, I was hired by
PPSC as the Law Enforcement Academy Director in March 2011.
