College Navigator

Use College Navigator to find the most recent IPEDS data on Pikes Peak State College and other institutions of higher education. This tool allows potential students to compare institutions or gather information on specific schools. Users can search by institutional name, region, state, zip code, type of institution or program. College Navigator includes contact information for the institution(s) searched for as well as degrees offered, tuition and other information.

A - F

An instructional program leading toward a certificate or an associate's degree.

The time period containing the academic sessions held during consecutive summer, fall, and spring semesters.

An award that normally requires at least 2 but less than 4 years of full-time equivalent college work.

Date at which enrollment data are “frozen” for reporting purposes. Typically reflects the end of the drop/add period for course registration.

A formal award certifying the satisfactory completion of a post-secondary education program.

A unit of measure representing the equivalent of an hour (50 minutes) of instruction per week over the entire term.

The number of credit hours assigned to a particular course.

A specific group of students established for tracking purposes.

A student who was enrolled at Pikes Peak State College the preceding academic year.

A student for which the college receives funding from the state of Colorado.

A student enrolled in courses for credit and recognized by the institution as seeking a degree or certificate.

A program through which high school students may enroll in college courses while still enrolled in high school.

Occurs when a student is counted more than one time. For instance, a student who attends classes in summer, fall, and spring is counted three times. A student who attends several courses at two different locations is counted twice, once at each location.

Student whose parents did not earn a four-year college degree.

A student attending any institution of post-secondary education for the first time. Includes students enrolled in the fall term who enrolled for the first time in the prior summer term.

A student who has completed less than the equivalent of one full year of undergraduate work; that is, less than 30 semester hours.

F - Z

A twelve-month period running from July 1st through the following June 30th.

A student who takes at least 12 credit hours in a specific semester.

A budgetary term derived from the total number of student credit hours. Semester FTE is calculated by dividing total credit hours by 15. Annualized FTE is calculated by dividing total credit hours by 30.

Percentage of cohort students (first-time, full-time, degree/certificate seeking) that have graduated from the institution within 150 percent or normal time to degree completion, or three years.

The number of students enrolled in one or more courses, at one or more locations. This number may be duplicated (see Duplicated headcount) or un-duplicated (see Un-duplicated headcount).

The primary way a course is taught (e.g. face-to-face, hybrid, online, etc.).

A subject of academic study chosen as a field of specialization.

A student enrolled in for-credit courses and not recognized by the institution as seeking a degree or certificate.

A student enrolled for less than 12 semester credit hours in a term.

A campus location where students take the majority of their credit hours.

A student who formerly attended Pikes Peak State College and is returning after being absent for three terms.

Instructional courses designed for students deficient in the general competencies necessary for a regular post-secondary curriculum and educational setting.

A measure of the rate at which students persist in their educational program at an institution, expressed as the percentage of full-time, first-time, degree/certificate-seeking students from the previous fall who either re-enrolled or successfully completed their program by the current fall.

Result from multiplying course credits by the number of enrolled students. Student credit hours are used as the basis for computing student FTE.

A student entering an institution for the first time but known to have previously attended a post-secondary institution at the same level (e.g., undergraduate, graduate). The student may transfer with or without credit.

Indicates the semester such as summer, fall, or spring.

In a given period of time, the total count of students enrolled in for-credit courses with each student being counted only once regardless of when the student enrolled.
