Studying overseas is not simply tourism. These courses are powerful experiences and contain academic elements that reach far beyond the walls of a traditional classroom. Besides focusing on the educational concepts related to the places that are visited (like a monument’s historical or cultural relevance), these trips encompass invaluable knowledge on handling foreign currency, traveling safety, navigating using the area’s local transportation, bridging communication barriers, and so much more.
Former Study Abroad participants help prepare students before they make the trip,
during which the students are accompanied all the while by trained faculty members
- ensuring safety amidst the adventurous environment. If you, as a PPSC student, are
yearning to experience beautiful natural wonders, dive into exotic cultures, and receive
a new global perspective, then this is your prime opportunity.
Study Abroad Benefits

"My favorite part was touring Versailles."
"It’s a great opportunity to see the world, and you’ll have the security of being in a group, so you don’t have to be alone."
"Seeing the historical sites were the most meaningful to me."
Details on PPSC Study Abroad Program
With the ever evolving concerns and spread of COVID-19 across the world, PPSC leadership have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 trip to Belize and any plans for other 2021 trips. Full details below
Hello Students,
We hope you are staying well. As I am sure some of you are aware, due to COVID-19
, we have had to make some tough decisions regarding our Study Abroad program. Because
of budget and travel restrictions, we cancelled our May 2020 trips to Peru and Germany,
Italy, and Switzerland. Since then, there have been many discussions about what these
restrictions will mean for our Study Abroad program in the near future. Unfortunately, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2021 trip to
Belize and any plans for other 2021 trips.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:
For Students currently enrolled in the Belize trip May 2021 with EF Tours, you will need to call or go online to cancel your trip. In order to
receive a full refund, you must cancel your trip between October 1st and November 1st 2020. This is their policy not ours, but you
will get a full refund between those dates. We will send out a reminder on October
1st 2020. If you are still interested in travelling abroad, you have a few options. First,
you can check out trips being run through our partner Colorado community colleges.
You can explore options in the links below. Second, you may also sign up for any Study
Abroad trip offered through EF Tours. You can check those out at www.eftours.com. These will just be independent trips with no affiliation with PPSC and will not offer
any course credit.
Students with vouchers from cancelled trips May 2020 you have a couple of options:
You can request a refund through EF Tours based upon the agreed upon terms. You may
also use your voucher to use toward another EF Tours Study Abroad trip. You can check
out those options at www.eftours.com. These will just be independent trips with no affiliation with PPSC and will not
offer any course credit. Or you could join one of our partner community college trips
listed below. You will be able to get faculty contact information through the links
listed below.

The faculty at our partner colleges are excited for the chance to have some of our
students join their trips. I told them how awesome you are. They are an engaging group
of professionals who have an incredible passion for exploring the world. Please know
that PPSC did not make these decision lightly. While we fully believe in the real
life benefits of studying abroad, recent events have made programs like these more
difficult to run and support. Our sincere hope is that PPSC will have the Study Abroad
program up and running again as soon as at all possible.
We are here to help you make your decisions, so please feel free to reach out with
your questions or concerns at HIPS@pikespeak.edu
