We have started the Samantha Hall Surgical Tech Memorial Scholarship to honor our daughter and sister, her love, and her desire to always be first at hand to assist those in need. We believe Samantha lived her life as fully as possible for the thirty years we were ever so blessed to have shared with her. She has left a footprint in the hearts and lives of her family, friends, and co-workers that continues to provide inspiration and encouragement. Samantha’s personality throughout her life was to live, laugh, and love.
These three words epitomizes the spirit and nature of Samantha from the time she was little into her adulthood. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. It did not matter to her what she was doing, just as long as she spent that time with those for whom she cared the most. She was extremely outgoing and her sparkly personality was ever present. No matter the adversity that life presented at times, Samantha never let it hinder nor deter her from what she wanted out of life. In fact, it made her that more determined. Her zest for life was so amazing. She had a way of making the saddest person’s frown turn into a smile. Her laughter and hugs were one of kind. She was goofy and made the best of life around her.
Even when Samantha was little, she already knew she wanted to help others, so it was no surprise she would enter the medical field. After graduating high school, her journey began. She entered a CNA program and soon landed a position with The Center at Centennial. While being employed there, she furthered her education and entered a Surgical Tech program. Upon completion, she gained employment at Premier MediSpa. Samantha’s journey continued on as she gained employment with Penrose Hospital and later Memorial Hospital, where she worked in the O.R. as a surgical tech.
Samantha’s desires and goals did not end with the hospital. While aiding in the care of others, she continued her education and enrolled in school to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree and work toward her goal to be a Physician Assistant. During this time, an opportunity arose. She was given the chance to design and launch the Surgical Tech program at Pikes Peak State College. She was so excited to be offered this position to share her personal experience and knowledge of something that she genuinely enjoyed in her life.
Unfortunately, this time was short lived. She now has a higher calling. As her family, we feel this scholarship is a way to continue Samantha’s legacy. One that will hopefully give others the chance to fulfill their desires and goals. Samantha gave so much of herself to others, and it is fitting that her selflessness be continued on. It is our hope that Samantha’s spirit will encourage you to live life to the fullest, take the time to laugh, love unconditionally, and never quit while achieving your dreams.
