Pikes Peak State College understands that basic needs directly impact the well-being and success of our students. Basic needs can include food, housing, transportation, wellness, and other important services.

Learn about completing the quick, easy, and confidential online Screener - then a Single Stop counselor will personally contact you to discuss details.

Single Stop Program Logo

Single Stop is a grant-funded program that provides support to
people who need resources to combat basic needs insecurity.

Single Stop offers assistance with:
  • Locating food pantries on- and off-campus
  • Determining eligibility for human service programs such as food stamps, TANF, WIC, and LEAP
  • Referrals for housing support in the community
  • Other vital community resources

College Services

Mountain Metro Transit College Pass Program

Students have unlimited access to the Mountain Metro Transit bus system with a swipe of their Student ID Card at the fare boxes. 

Free Shuttle Between CHES Bldg. and Rampart Campus

There are designated parking areas for both shuttle riders and car pool participants on the SE side of the Rampart parking lot. Shuttle pick-up and drop-off times and locations are posted. The shuttle runs about every 7–10 minutes from the Rampart Campus 7:30 am–7 pm M-TH and 7:30 am–5:30 pm Friday.

All Canvas Community Food Pantries offer free food, personal hygiene items, clothing, and pet food when available.

Centennial Campus 

The Community Table is a food pantry and shared space for students, faculty, and staff.

Mobile Food Market

In partnership with Southern Colorado Care and Share, the Division of Student Experience & Equity organizes mobile food markets open to students, staff, and community members. There are no requirements to receive food (no ID or demonstration of need). Food distribution is completed on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Low-Cost Dental Services

The Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center at Pikes Peak State College offers a wide range of low-cost, preventive and therapeutic dental services for adults and children through our Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs. Student clinicians provide all services under the direct supervision of certified dental assistants, licensed dental hygienists, and a staff dentist, ensuring high-quality care and comprehensive education for our students.

Department of Military and Veterans Programs

Tax Help Colorado

IRS-certified Accounting program students and volunteers work under tax professionals' supervision to provide quality tax return services for free to low-to-moderate income Coloradans. The income limit this year is $57,000.

Student Assistance Scholarships

Please note the scholarship application windows below and read the instructions at the top of the application forms carefully.

You may apply for one scholarship per semester (either Basic, Academic, or Childcare Needs). Supporting documents must be included, reflect your current financial situation, and reflect what you plan to use the scholarship for. Scholarships are offered on a first come, first serve basis until funds are exhausted. Priority will be given to first-time applications when funds are more limited. If you have any questions, please contact StudentExperience@pikespeak.edu prior to applying.

Application Windows:

  • Spring 2025 Semester – January 13, 2025 – May 17, 2025
  • Summer 2025 Semester – TBD
  • Fall 2025 Semester – TBD

Note: Application windows will open approximately a month prior to the first refund disbursement date of each semester, which occur shortly after each semester’s drop date. Scholarships cannot be disbursed prior to these dates. Please consult the academic calendar for details.

We are committed to providing support and assistance to ensure that all students can succeed academically, regardless of one's circumstances. Your application will be reviewed with understanding and compassion.

This support is open to all students attending Pikes Peak State College. Students may request up to $400 per semester. 

Academic Needs Form

This application is to request assistance for academic needs, such as textbooks, course materials and supplies, and any other academic items students may need for their success.

We are committed to providing support and assistance to ensure that all students can succeed academically, regardless of one's circumstances. Your application will be reviewed with consideration and compassion.

This support is open to all students attending Pikes Peak State College, and students can request up to $400 per semester. 

Child-Care Needs Form

This application is to request assistance for childcare needs.

Student requests may not exceed 2 months per semester.

We recognize balancing the demands of education and the responsibilities of child-care can be a challenge. If you are a parent/guardian facing difficulties in accessing childcare needs while pursuing academic success, we encourage you to apply for this scholarship.

Supporting documentation is required for eligibility for this endowment (i.e. Childcare Invoices, Proof of Universal Pre-K ).

This assistance is open to all parents/guardian students attending Pikes Peak State College. Your application will be reviewed with compassion and full deliberation.
