About the Center

The Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center was established thanks to a generous $2.5 million grant from the Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation (DDCOF). This grant is the largest in PPSC’s history and the largest single gift awarded by the foundation. Our center is designed to offer comprehensive dental education programs that equip students with the skills needed to excel in their careers and serve the community effectively.

Key Features

  • Two clinics with 20 total chairs: Providing hands-on training and real-world experience.
  • High-fidelity simulation: Allowing for low-risk, high-impact learning.
  • Advanced dental technology: Including intra-oral and 3D imaging, CAD/CAM crown design, and production.
  • Community-focused services: Low-income clinics are part of the curriculum, offering dental hygiene and general services to the public.

Programs Offered

  • Dental Hygiene Program: Launching in fall 2025, this program aims to fill the gap in dental hygiene training in Colorado Springs, one of the largest metro areas without such a program.
  • Expanded Dental Assisting Program: Currently occupying the facility, this program prepares students for successful careers in dental assisting.

Information for patients

Starting January 2025, the Pikes Peak State College Delta Dental Oral Health Career Center will welcome patients with various dental needs. Initially, basic restorative services such as dental fillings and sealants will be available, expanding to a wide range of preventive and therapeutic services, including dental cleanings and gum disease treatments, in spring 2026. Patients must first attend a 30-minute screening to assess their needs before scheduling an appointment with a student clinician.

Services are provided by student clinicians under the supervision of certified dental assistants and licensed dental hygienists, with a staff dentist present during clinical hours. Due to the educational nature of the clinic, appointment times are typically longer and may require multiple visits. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 719-502-4049. For details on patient requirements and services offered, visit our Patient Information Page.
