Hands-On Clinical Experience to Enhance Your Education

In addition to the classroom content, students can anticipate up to 60 hours of hands-on clinical experience. Clinical instruction takes place outside of the traditional classroom in a live, community-based healthcare setting.

Clinical Compliancy Paperwork required

1. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)/Healthcare Provider CPR* card for all ages.

     *HPR 1011 at PPSC, or community classes taught by American Heart Association - CPR Skills portion must be an in-person course

2. Health and Immunization Form - Completed and signed by a PHYSICIAN, NURSE PRACTITIONER, or PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT ONLY  

3. NUA Enrollment and Student Acknowledgment Form

Additional Program Costs

In addition to tuition and classroom-based supplies, the nurse aid program has additional costs: 
  • CastleBranch Account to upload clinical compliancy documentation
  • A watch with a second hand
  • Required vaccines/screenings 
  • Testing for the CNA certification
  • Clinical supplies: 
    • White scrub top
    • Maroon/Wine colored scrub bottoms 
    • White shoes
    • White socks
    • PPSC Nurse Aid ID (free from Student Life at Rampart or Centennial Campuses) 
    • Nursing Patch (can be purchased from the PPSC bookstore)
At this time, no additional lab supplies are needed.
